Here, you can bring up ideas for RPs and confer with other members to gauge interest. Happy writing!

Gridless
Setting: The Modern World (except all the myths are true)
Idea: All the Myths are True. Every one of them.
Except, the world doesn't know it yet, because a long, long time ago there was a human warrior who conquered all the mythical races and forced them all "underground" or "off the grid" as it is currently referred to. The warrior was called the "Blood Rose", and her heart as a cold stone. No one knows what she had against magic, nor why she did what she did, but her and her descendants kept the mythical beings out of the view of humans, and eventually they became legend.
Today, the term "gridless" refers to these creatures or beings, as well as anyone who is outcasted by the mortal world. There are humans with magic, fairies, elves, shapeshifters, you name it. However, it isn't just limited to magical beings. There are mutants, trained vampire hunters, and unnamed beings created by science. There are humans who simply use magical items, but have no magic of there own. There are people who have been enchanted, cursed, abandoned, or forgotten. All these people are considered "gridless'
There are three big groups of "gridless": The Underground, the Reserve, and the Borealis.
The Underground is all about order. The moment you join, you are taken to their HQ (The Mesa) to fill out medical paperwork, do a medical evaluation, be assigned a mentor, a room, and an I.D. card. The Underground is run on a points system. Food and board is free, but for everything else, you must pay with your points. You gain points by doing chores, teaching classes (if you are certified), taking classes (if you are a newbie), or taking on excursion jobs (going outside the Mesa to keep order "on the grid"). Before you can take any excursion jobs, you must pass a test given by your mentor to prove you are ready. After that, you may be assigned an apprentice yourself. There are six different factions in the Underground, and each faction has an elected representative on the High Council, which makes all decisions. Also, they have facilities for research, as well as the biggest medical center off the grid.
The Reserve is all about keeping peace. They aren't very organized, minus a single council of ten people, which only meet in cases of a trial. The Reserve has only one rule: If is it illegal for mortals, it is illegal for you. Basically, if you use your powers to commit a crime, and the mortals can't convict you because of it, the Reserve Council will hold a trial. If you are found guilty, you will get the same sentence as you would "on the grid". Other than that, what you do with your magic is your business. They have small stores called "The Music, Magic, and Craft Chest" all around the world where you can meet other Reserve members in the back.
The Borealis is all about survival of the fittest. It was created by the remaining members of an old group call the Glacier (which was destroy by the Underground and Reserve a long time ago). They have many hideouts, and their leader is whoever can seize power at the time. Their slogan is "if you can get away with it, then you should get away with it". Their leader at the moment is a woman by the name of Zena, who murdered her sister Zaria for power three years ago. The only trial system they have is trial by combat.
(sorry, haven't revised this for errors, so I apologize if it isn't clear)

That sounds really cool! Kind of reminds me of Dresden, although in that case he's literally in the phonebook under "Wizards"...

I think that sounds pretty interesting! I'd love to introduce my old alchemist Maxis, a long time member of The Underground who was sent on an excursion years ago, but still hasn't finished the op... Nowadays, he serves as a contact on the grid, being one of the few who is comfortable with, and even sometimes enjoys, working "on the grid" despite his eccentricities.

I've never actually read Dresden, but I have been meaning to. This is the world I would use to run casual RP's over a forum in high school. Because it is the modern world, it is easy to improv situations. I think I will make a Google doc with this information, a map of the Mesa, and information on the leaders of the three groups. After that, anyone is free to use this setting as they please (Basically, anything anyone says is cannon).
Also, I forgot to mention, these are the big 3 groups. There are other, smaller, more local groups around. They are normally run under similiar laws to the Reserve, but there are little cults here and there.

Here's a little something I've been toying with recently.
Title:End Game
Setting Inspiration:Great Heathen Army Invasion of England
Synopsis:
The Great Sea rots, the sun refuses to rise, and black dragon-crested ships sail forth from the west. Cities and towns are sacked and the foreign invaders show no sign of leaving; their numbers bolstering with every assault. Feuding lords must put aside their differences and band together to fight against a plague of undead from a land as mysterious as the Long Night that has ushered the arrival of the Black Ships.
At Rook’s Point the silver-beaked, blue-feathered sigil of the House of Rook burns in the fires of the undead vanguard. As the town below burns, those loyal to the nobility anxiously await atop high stone walls. Maddox Rook, Lord of the Point, mourns the loss of his eldest son, Matthias. Old allies have abandoned him, and whispers of mutiny have taken hold throughout the rank and file. The Point must withstand the might of the undead scourge! Many will perish, but if the invaders can be held back here, there might be hope yet for the rest of the ancient lands of Fenrrion.

Ooh, +1 for Rek's thing, too!
On a side note, who here would be interested in participating in an RP based on the anime Darker than Black? I feel like RPing a Contractor would be ridiculously awesome, given the systems by which their powers work.

Ten of Swords: A Requiem Who will be our candle during the last and longest night?
When no one else can protect us from darkness, magical girls sacrifice their youth to fight despair on our behalf. The mysterious transfer girl in the desk in front of yours, she guards the streets while you sleep peacefully so that tomorrow she can see you smile. She doesn’t ask for your thanks, because the chance to hear you laugh again gives her the strength to draw her sword for one more night.
Have you ever dreamed of joining the league of high school girls who fight evil by moonlight? Are you willing to risk your life for friendship and love? Now you can! I will be running a magical girl campaign using Big Eyes, Small Mouth d20. It is compatible with DnD 3.5, but character creation uses a point-cost system. No prior knowledge of mechanics is necessary. When the time comes to play, I will provide you with the information necessary. All players will be first year high school girls. As of right now, I have four players already, but I am happy to take a couple more. If you’re interested in signing away your soul, I’d love to make a contract with you! Just send me a message, and we can discuss it further!

I would enjoy a Darker Than Black campaign (I've only watched the first two episodes, but the concept is good)
